Digital Product Manager

We are seeking a manager to lead our digital product team in identifying opportunities and developing digital solutions. The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience in digital product management. This person must have a customer-first mindset, strong understanding of back-end and front-end programming languages, and an ability to develop data pipelines that can be used to track, analyze, and improve our digital products. The role requires a candidate who has excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills for working with a team to interpret large amounts of data. This is a customer-centric role, working to translate the needs of users into digital business opportunities.

Objectives

  • Drive strategies and long-term vision to build best-in-class digital products

  • Conduct user research and usability studies, collaborating with designers, developers, and research teams throughout the process

  • Craft a product vision (short- and long-term) and convert it to concrete strategy

  • Participate in market research, validation, and white space analysis to identify opportunities for new or existing features and functionalities

  • Partner with business owners and agile product teams to build roadmaps that will be reflected in the company's broader portfolio planning

  • Develop and implement pipelines that extract, transform, and load data into an information product

Responsibilities

  • Partner with IT to manage roadmap and backlog for all digital products, ensuring that IT delivers capabilities on time and per expectation

  • Oversee requirements discovery, solution design, user story writing, feature development, and user acceptance testing

  • Partner with executive team to identify key capabilities needed as well as potential issues

  • Partner regularly with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on feature development and prioritization

  • Work with product marketing to develop positioning and messaging and ensure differentiation from competitors

  • Monitor and evaluate product performance to facilitate continuous iteration and improvement

Required skills & qualifications

  • Three to five years of experience in digital product management or similar role

  • Strong analytical, prioritization, and negotiating skills

  • Experience in usability and customer-focused design

  • Passion for building great products to solve customer and business problems

Preferred skills & qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, information systems, or related field  

  • Experience with SQL queries and with back-end and front-end programming languages such as Java, HTML, CSS

  • Analyze project status and, when necessary, revise the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met

  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards and assessing risks

  • Structure and manage integrated, multitrack performance databases for digital, print, social, broadcast, and experiential projects

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with third-party resources, including vendors and researchers

  • Assign and monitor resources to ensure project efficiency and maximize deliverables

  • Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan

Required skills & qualifications

  • Four or more years of project management experience

  • Experience in developing web technologies and software platforms for maximum usability

  • Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines

  • Proven success working with all levels of management

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent presentation skills

Preferred skills & qualifications

  • Professional certification such as PMP or PRINCE2

Technical Project Manager (TPM)
